This is a different / more detailed version of a previous piece I did in my profile. The explanation is pretty much the same but I didn't want to throw it in, as it was old.
The Root Chakra has to do with survival, the physical, the connection with the earth, one's sense of security. Whether or not you can feel it like some people can, you will know the mental s
tate of the root by your eagerness to do physical things, sense of safety, your primal instincts, and even your patience, when its not working you experience irritability, perhaps lazyness and attachment. I find I used to live in my head, its like I had to remind myself I had a body and I needed it to carry out my ideas and ambitions.
When all the chakras are balanced, its almost as if a sense of personality dis
spates.. its strange.. its just this ultimate sense of function and there is nothing you are unwilling to do. When one chakra is more dominant, it reflects your actions. I find when all mine are balanced through meditation, I just pretty much just work on whatever I want to get done the most, mentally or physically.
Its not always great having them balanced completely though. Try meditating, finding inner peace and balance and then going to a party.. its like.. you just can't seem to find the reason why you would want to be there. lol
Its not entirely like that though, for underneath it all you have a powerful sense of contentment, which you may express externally, its just your actions are somewhat guided by choosing instead of instinct while balanced, so it depends on the person and their interests.
The root chakra is the first and most basic of 7, it is primal, it is the body, when its dominant, all one wants to do is move around, work, play etc..
So in this painting I tried to depict a wild man, even with the beard and hair, he's just so physical. .. lol cutting your hair would be an artistic sense of aesthetics. So there's a reasoning behind a lot of this. And yes, he's climbing a mountain, under a scorching sun for his survival depends on it.
And yes, as you may guess, the colour associated with the root chakra is RED.. I tried to keep it entirely red, but there are hints of orange and pink
