Exploring "objective, psychedelic, visual phenomena"
The psychedelic experience is rarely transcribed accurately into a creative medium. Many artists simply become "inspired" by the experience, and use common motifs and symbols.
What are the blockages that arise when an artist attempts to create their ineffable experience? Terrence McKenna said numerous times "if only I could bring back one of these eggs [delicious, trillion layered golden Faberge crystal sculptured eggs in hyperspace], all rumors would be squashed".
Artists such as Pablo Amaringo + Alex Grey (leaders in the field), create a single scene that they "remember" from their experience. This is countered by the belief that there are visual laws in which artists can use to induce the same experience of disassociation, novelty, "dimensionless" quality. A removal of our ideology is required : no "things" we know, can be painted or drawn. It is an exploration of an alien landscape where a new language is required.
